Question

Help answer this question below.

I was trying to jump a fence with my friend because i was going to be late to school, and walking around this fence would take forever.the fence is taller than me, it was rusty.i got 2 cuts from it. im uptodate on shots. can i get tetanus?

    Even though you are up-to-date, its probably a good idea to go to the doctors and get it checked out,
    tetanus is a nasty disease!

    i havent got my tetanus shot in 15 years or so...i work at an outside ore prosecing plant thats made completely out of rusty metal with a lot of jagged eadges everywaere. i scrape and punture my self all the time, never got lock jaw, or tetnus or blood poisoning or anyhting else. but just to be safe...amputate from just above the cuts.

    You should be fine if you take care of your cut an disinfect it. If your cut doesnt heal right and you think you are at risk for tetnus then call a dr. and schedule an app. There is no reason to worry atm. Your updated on your shots which should prevent tetnus.
    *If the cuts are deep and wont stop bleeding then its always best to see have an appt made to see the dr.

    You do not get tetanus from rusty fences but from soil, so the most dangerous kind of injury involves possible contamination with dirt, animal feces, and manure. If the wound bled and you cleaned it after wards the likely hood of getting tetanus is almost zero.
