Not so much cut them out of my life, but rather put my foot down that I was aware of their actions and intent and was not going to allow them to use me any more.

A toxic ex-girlfriend who reacted violently when I tried to kick my heroin habit. She wasn't ready to stop and hounded me until I locked myself in the bathroom for 2 weeks. She pounded on the door for a few days but finally gave up and left to find some other host to drain.

Yes. In my mind, that is simply life management. I have a life to live with people who depend on me to be there for them when they need me. I can't let emotional vampires suck the life out of me whether it is intentional or not. I don't hate them for it, but at the same time I have to move on.

Of course. Everyone does otherwise you could not make progress. You stay married to someone who made you miserable so you'd never be free to find someone who made you happy. If you stayed in one job all your life you'd be stuck in rut. You cut that company and its people out of your life and move on with it! :)

Yes I have, I cut my mom off for a few years... she was using drugs and was a negative influence on my son... It was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do... But the good news is she has been off of drugs now for a little over 5 years...

Yes twice actually. When my grandmother died in 1996 her asshole son told us never to come near the house again, she left it to him and is wife in her will. He was always a prick and so there has been no communication with him or her since 1996.
My brother and his wife divorced after a rocky marriage, they have 3 boys and so she is gone aswell. At least when the boys are grown up they can make up their own minds who they want in their lives and not have her telling them who they can or cannot see.

    My ex boyfriend
He was stressful and I'm a free spirit I wanted to be with my friends and him but he was soo demanding I had to break up and then avoid his presence
I stopped talking to him and ignored him because he was still bothering me about our relationship
On the plus side now I'm more stress free more active and get to hang out with all my friends

Yes, there have been a handful of people that life is too short to let them waste anymore of my time and patience. Two or three of them still send me letters that I've never answered after nearly ten years.

Well, I am currently in the process of trying to cut my father out of my life. He has become a man that I don't know and I don't want to know.
