I removed mine the first day I got my computer.
The action itself won't hurt your computer. The consequences might however. If you remove Norton, it could leave your computer open to viruses and other nasties.
If you only remove the checkup it might not be so bad, you just wont be able to see when you have viruses or spyware.
There are better programs out there than Norton (I removed it myself as I found it to be too invasive), you will just have to research and find a program that is right for you.
Does Norton Anti Virus programme have to be downloaded every time the PC is turned on?

Is it safe/will it damage my computer if I remove Norton PC checkup through the Add/Remove Programs list? It acts more like spyware than anything else on my computer, it's useless and annoying :/
