  • A small amount of white pus is normal in piercings. If it changes color -- get to a doctor. The tiny red bump is scar tissue forming. This may reduce over time. If raised tissue forms on the skin around the piercing, this is a keloid. It will sometimes happen where skin is traumatized through piercing or tattooing. Other things can cause keloids too. I have one the size of a pencil eraser head where a tick bit me years and years ago. Once you have an instance of a keloid, you should avoid any skin trauma as these can get big and ugly if you tend to get them..
