We have a bridge called crybaby bridge where a woman supposedly drowned her baby. They say if you park there at night you'll hear the baby crying and the woman crying, or you'll have little baby handprints on the back of your car, but i've been there dozens of times and nothings ever happened.

It has to be the one where the couple is parking making out in the car and they hear a new bulletin about an escaped convict with a hook for hand. They get scared and go home and when they get out of the car there is a hook caught in the door handle of the car.

I guess mine is from my childhood and the local public swimming pool. We were told by the other kids that someone had stuck razor blades all along the sides of the slide and some girl got cut all to pieces when she slid down it. Of course it was witnessed by a friend of a friend who had a cousin that had a friend that was there when it happened........Swear to goodness it really happened.....

There's the one about this rich family (from Texas, if I remember correctly) who were so charismatic and intelligent, that all the country were drawn to elect each, the FATHER and SON to the presidency!!!

supposedly in des moines there is a mall with a hotel in it. the hotel was built on top of the remains of an old monostary cemetary where "unclean" nuns would bury their dead newborns. supposedly they aged into adults in the afterlife and can be heard walking around on the top floor of the hotel around midnight-3 am. haven't investigated it yet, but i bet it's a load.

also in ames (i know this one is true) a kid hung himself in a dorm room. the university kept trying to fill the room and the ones next to it, and after about a week the kids kept moving out and quitting the school.this kept happening for a while, and finally the resident hall director tried to disprove it by spending a night in there. after that night, she came out looking pale and like she had been crying. the next day she quit her job and left ames.
