Help answer this question below.
I know dozens of couples whose marriages were arranged. In almost all cases, both wife and husband have bachelor's degrees, and in many cases both have advanced degrees.
I have discussed this with several couples, and none of the women feel specially oppressed by the arrangement at all -- especially since their husband had his marriage arranged also.
No doubt in some developing lands things are worse for women, specifically in Islamic theocracies. Improved education, exposure, and improved economies are the best medicine for those situations.
What can I do to help? I've hired people who are in arranged marriages. I also volunteer in West Africa. They don't practice arranged marriages there but they are extremely poor.
Why do you want to help? At this point in time, you might want to focus volunteering and donations within your own country. We are in a recession. Doesn't really matter what country you are in, you should be a patriot. Most industrialized countries give food and money to third world ones anyway through government channels. So much so that your efforts will probably not matter in the big picture.
