  • It was spoken before the Inca and still spoken now! Currently, it is mainly spoken in Peru and Bolivia. There are MANY languages like that in South America. My favourite one is Mekatelyu, spoken in Costa Rica..My uncle and nephews speak it :D
  • I've traveled quite a bit in Peru and one of the first things the Quechua's tell you is that Inca was the title of their leader not the name of their people and that it's wrong to call them Incan. Yes, the Inca's did speak Quechua and their people still do. Most also speak Spanish and some that I've met speak English as well--they make great tour guides if you want to hike the Inca trail from Cuzco to Machu Picchu.
