Question

Help answer this question below.

I have hooked up 4, 60 watt speakers in paralell, 2, 100 watt speakers in paralell and two 100 watt in seperate to a home stereo and one side died. I've replaced the receiver with another one from the flea market and it's gone too. H

It died because the load impedance produced by wiring so many speaker in parallel was too low for the amplifier. The speakers should be wired in a combination serial / parallel to keep the load impedance within a reasonable range.
