I am in the Air Force DEP, am I allowed to leave the country for a vacation? I plan to visit Mexico one last time before shipping out.

Be careful. My buddy went on one last holiday before shipping out. He miss his plane and missed shipping out. 6 months in the stockade dishonorable discharge.

Be careful where you go in Mexico and stay ONLY in the most open and public places and stay away from places of prostitution. The drug wars with the Mexican government is making it very dangerous in some places especially along the border. Over 2000 have been killed this year and 6000 last year several hundered of which have been Americans or Canadians caught in crossfire. Do not accept the offer of money to carry drugs across the border in any fashion most get caught. If you go into Mexico or Canada, you will need a passport to return to the USA as of June 1,2009. Drivers license and birth certificate will no longer be accepted. I live on the border with Mexico in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas.
