Yes, that's the catch isn't it? I'm only 'bothered' since I cannot understand mindlessness. I enjoy a good debate and sometimes I ask a question simply on a 'need to know' basis (like my breast enhancement surgery' question.) A question doesn't mean we agree or disagree, just that we're interested. But why not have a moderation system? It's not just about getting points but it's nice to feel appreciated and we learn by our mistakes - but only if we get the chance to discuss things. (+6 to you!)

You're preaching to the choir but you have the same range of people here that you do in the outside world and some of them are not going to conform to our standards of what is right and wrong. And many apparently just don't want to discuss things. That's why shutting of my ratings is the best thing I ever did. I don't sweat those people or bang my head against the wall asking why they do what they do. I simply don't care. I enjoy the site and let them go about their business doing whatever they want. They have to live with themselves and their pettiness. I don't;)
