Question

Help answer this question below.

I get a stabbing pain on my upper left rib. It used to last 30 sec. Now it lasts for minutes. My doctor said it was nothing about 2 months ago when it was milder but now I'm worried. Does anyone what I should do?

If that doctor says the same thing, tell him you want a second opinion and see a specialist; pains in your chest could mean a variety of things, a pinched nerve, something going on with your lung; you want to rule out HEART ATTACK, your bodies trying to tell you something and that doctors not hearing it.

i would say go to the dr again and tell them its worse, but i have had the same pain and its really nothing. it can be a muscle spasm or even an anxiety attack(yes you can have them without having any other symptoms) i had an xray, and ekg, and an ulktrasound of my heart, plus bloodwork and a 24 hour heart monitor

You need to get a different doctor to investigate further. Don't let them just brush it off. My mother had a similar problem, they couldn't figure it out even her MRI's came up negative. They decided to perform surgery to see what was up after months of being in pain. Lucky they did, her gallbladder was not working properly. They had to take it out.
