Do you allow your kids to rent/buy violent video games? or do you restrict what they can and cannot play?

why wouldnt I let them do anything they wanted to? Its a free country...Also, Im sure the video game industry knows whats best for my children. . .

My 12 year old likes to play resident evil its only game and everyone knows there arnt any zombies so i see it harmless.Its all about boundaries of what is real and what isnt,most children know the difference

I restrict them but not as much as I probably should. I do let them rent things above their age sometimes. I make my own decision but the ratings are very useful as a guideline. It also depends on which child. Some children are more sensitive than others of the same age and less sensitive for that matter. Even amongst my own children. I let my 13 year old son see Die Hard 2 - I cant see why that was 18 apart from swearing. Its violent of course too. There are many 15 films I would not let him see. I have also had complained to my sons about games that I think they should not play infront of my 8 year old daughter only to find they are rated 3+. I still do not let them play that game with her in the room.
