Detroit, for all practical purposes, is already a dead city.
Vacant properties are abundant.
Vegetable gardens are taking the place of houses that use to be.
Since you mentioned this, i have noticed a lot of vehicles from Michigan, in the state of Tennessee.

Sure! There has to be some place in the country that is filthy, stinks and looks like hell exploded on earth! It's existance is safe.
