With as many people out there getting laid off, I'd just be happy that you have a job.
Probably because every boss in the country is taking advantage of people right now because they know you won't quit since there's nothing else out there.
1) you didn't ask
2) you have not stated why you deserve a raise
3) you are not a member of a union
4) the economy sucks and the company is not making a profit, it might just close it's doors
Either you haven't earned it or the company you work for is like every other company on the planet - they're hurting financially.
