I was terminated from employment a month ago for misplacing two deposits that were found prior to my termination. I was told I was not being accused of anything however this could have led to identity theft etc. Can they still accuse me of anything?

If the deposits were misplaced to begin with, this is not a good thing, even though they were found. Your company wants to be sure that this will never happen again, so they're taking what they feel is a necessary step. With the US economy being so bad, there are more people than ever waiting to step into your job, so if you have a job you like, do everything you can to hang on to it!

My misplacing something as important as deposits -- twice, it shows the company that you aren't responsible. You could have set them up to alot of legal trouble because of it. Learn from it and be more careful in the future.
