  • I think only ne run counts. You can't have two runners on a base at the same time. What I don't recall is if one of the runners has to be tagged with the ball (even after touching home), if the base can be tagged, or if the fielding team has to do anything other than appeal.
  • The offense hasn't done anything wrong. No runners have passed each other and because R1 has not touched 3rd base he is allowed to return to touch 2nd. Even if the batter/runner(BR) had already passed second, R1 could stop tell BR to return to second and allow R1 to return and retouch second base. two runs score.
