I have my Daddy's 1920's May-Bell guitar by Slingerland (Regal). May-Bell was a brand name of the Slingerland Company, which was more famous for manufacturing drums, from 1917 until the mid 30's. The all-brass tuners are original and the May-Bell label appears through the sound hole. This guitar has an unusually wide neck - almost like a classical guitar and is an exceptional instrument for finger picking. He had this guitar and his brother had a banjo when they were young and I believe they played bluegrass together. I keep it on display in my living and don't let anyone mess with it.

I have 7 guitars, 2 basses and 1 banjo. I used to own 26 guitars, but we had a fire 2 years ago and everything got destroyed except the guitar I had with me for rehearsal. I didn't get enough insurance money back to replace everything, so I just made sure I had a few good guitars to play. Last time I had a quantity, this time I'm going for quality instead. Some of my friends think that is is unusual to have 7 guitars, but they don't realize that I have an acoustic guitar for folk singing, another that has a good rock sound, a thinline for blues, a big archtop for jazz, a nylon string for classical, an electric nylon string for smooth jazz, and an electric acoustic for country. I have a Carvin AE185 electric acoustic guitar that is a good all-around guitar and sounds good on all types of music. I use this for jams and rehearsals. But when I am recording or doing a specific type of show, I like to have a guitar that is perfectly suited for that type of music. Yes, I own 3 guitars, two of which I built. Wish I had the funds to get several more. Like an old Les Paul and a PRS. Perhaps a nice Martin acoustic too.
