about 25 miles - no counting school bus stops
As far as local city buses are concerned there's one right out in front of my apartment complex. The out of town bus terminal (Greyhound, Trailways,etc..) is about 7-8 miles from here.
At least three bus-stops within 500 metres :)
About 18 miles.
About 300 feet.
Bout 45 or more miles.
Well the school buses from two different districts, from two different directions used to both stop just about a half mile from us while there were school age kids but they have graduated. And now, for a transit type bus, I suppose I could go 25-30 miles in either direction to find a real bus stop.
About 30 miles. No buses in our town. Heck... I'm not sure we have a taxi service at all! ;-)
About a 2 minute walk.
47 miles.
About a hundred feet. About 300 to the subway.
There's so many of them around where I live. How close? Well, it depends on how fast you walk.
We don't have a "city bus" but I do live just 2 blocks from a grade school. +5
One and a half miles. About 2500 steps, 2500 slogging dragging sweating steps in a texas summer. 2500 mind numbing clothes ruinning...wait a minute I got a car! Drive to the stop, park the car in the lot of the near abandoned strip mall, right by the pawn shop, never mind the crack addicts. Sure glad I got a car.
When I was a kid the bus drove right by our suburban home, the stop was 3 lots away on the corner, sometimes the driver, if he knew us and where we lived, stopped right in front of our house. Those were the days. Well, they were for me, specially to ride on that bouncy jouncy hard rear seat. Never could figure out why them adults sitting back there had such dark expressions on their faces.
About 25 miles and only muggers, hookers and welfare recipients ride them.
I can only hope to be as green as them someday.
Other than School Bus Stops......approx: 35 miles.
Five blocks.
.5 kilometer
About two miles.
about a 10 minute walk i believe :)
What logical reason is it that Hours of Service rules are different for truck drivers as opposed to bus drivers? (IDENTICAL TIL 2004)?

I know it sounds harsh but why should wheelchair passengers only pay 1/2 price on public transit buses? they take up 3 or 5 seats depending on seating design, require much longer to get on and off and cause many delays due to lifts getting stuck.
