I'm not sure of this make (or your particular model), but as a rule you should go with DVD+R as these discs are generally compatible with the majority of stand-alone players. There are issues with DVD-R discs on many players and some players that don't care.
Personally, I've never come across a player that will read DVDRs that won't read a +R disc and several that definitely will not read a -R disc.

If discs recorded on a cd or dvd recorder don't have the compact disc logo on them they won't play in other players. Is this true?
