Question

Help answer this question below.

I am designing a book that has unfortunately come in very short in word count (30,000). The trim is 5x7" and they do not want it to come in under 200 pages. So for you designers out there, what face do you use to pad the book without making it obvious?

    1. Try a wider, rounder font like New Century Schoolbook or Bookman.
    2. Give yourself wide margins. An inch would work.
    3. Use deep leading (space between lines) and make the returns after a paragraph larger than any returns in the general body text.
    4. Begin your chapters 1/2 way down the right page. Make sure each chapter always begins on the right. This will add some blank pages between chapters.
    5. Add illustrations.
