I agree with him ,not something i do often, what is brave about killing thousands of people that have never done you any harm and making sure you are out of the way not to have to face the consequences.
It is a great honour to give your life for that cause, so to kill others in the process of said martyrdom can be nothing but cowardly.
Remember there was no discrimination in what people or nationality or religion they killed . They were all innocents with friends and families people from every creed and ethnicity

I don't understand why it would be cowardly. They didn't aim to fight the US military, they wanted to make a statement. And it was very successful, as 9/11 is referred to daily.

And the current insurgents aren't cowardly either. The "nobility" of standing out in the open with brightly decorated uniforms and shooting each other has been over for a while now. The goal in battle is to defeat the enemy, not to die nobly.

They wanted to die for there beliefs. Just because they had bad beliefs doesn't mean they were cowards.

No. They died fighting for what they believed in. However much we disapprove of their actions or their beliefs, they were not cowards. Zealots maybe.

No, I'd have used a different word. Cowards don't hijack planes and run them into buildings. Cowards sit at home dreaming about hijacking planes and running into buildings. Well, maybe not so much, but I wouldn't call them cowards. I don't think anyone would willingly take their own lives for something they didn't want or didn't believe in.

I would say that they exhibited misguided bravery. Misguided bravery is cowardness.

I dont think "cowards" is the right word.
What they did was a horrendous crime.

However, to commit suicide for something you believe in is not the act of a coward.

I have no problem with him using the words "Evil", "Mad" "insane" ....

But I dont think cowards fit.

I think anyone who uses planes with people on them to kill others in that manner could be called many things: crazy, zealots, radicals, sociopaths, etc. And cowardly as well.

If they wanted to just blow themselves up to make a statement, or to fight on land, as a regular soldier does, that would be far less cowardly. At least the people they are fighting would be armed and have some chance to fight back.

As one expert coward, I'd have to trust his judgment on a subject so close to home

When you're in the process of diffusing volatile situations it doesn't help to use insulting language. Case in point...my eldest daughter feared a male acquantance arranged to have her beat up the first day of school. My family and the boy's family met in discussion to prevent any violence from taking place. When my daughter was asked what was said during her phone conversation with the boy, she said she was trying to talk to him but he PUNKED OUT and....

My position was, we have a young man sitting in our living room who probably feels like he's being attacked from all sides. He begrudgingly agrees his actions were inappropriate. Then...

...my daughter calls him a PUNK.

Natural reaction from a hot head?

    "I'll SHOW you who's a punk!"

No, I don't think "coward" is appropriate unless you intend to incite further violence.

I really think two wrongs don't make a right... I had and still have no fear of terrorists... I really believe that it was an excuse to get over there for power and oil... Then he prays hipocritically and the day after bombs innocent people not terrorists in hope they get some terrorists as well...

Actually it's quite brave, ( and stupid,), to believe in a cause so much that you give up your life for it.

Some "terrorists" may be cowards - but those who flew the jets into the twin towers were quite "brave" in a sick misled sense.

Anyway - what would Bush Jr. know about "Bravery" anyway? The little twit couldn't even sit out his Air Force Reserve duty in Texas during the Vietnam war without deserting his post....and on the day of the 9/11 attacks he flew around all over the country like a demented chicken....I wouldn't be surprised if he was squawking "the sky is falling" while he did it.

To heck with bush and his opinions - let the fool think what he wants - nobody I know is interested in his opinions anyway.
