It depends on where you live. Dating is never illegal. Sexual activity might be.

The legalities would depend upon where you live. Morals are subjective and everyone has their own.

Sex with a minor (under 18) is considered statutory rape, irrespective of consent. Charges could be pressed by him or his parents, etc. You should carefully consider whether the potential consequences for you, for him, and for your relationship.
Morality in this case is acutely debatable. However, I was 17 when I had my first relationship with another male...he was 23, also. At 16 the age gap is fairly significant, but the younger one is, the more difficult it tends to be to find someone to date who is gay and of a similar age. At that time, I would have been open to a relationship with someone my age...i.e. another minor; however, I couldn't find it. Age was (reasonably) irrelevant to me and our relationship was completely consensual. I have no regrets whatsoever. Consider that I may not have turned out to be a well-adjusted, proud gay man.

Sadly, caution and discreet is the word id use. If you two love each other, as far as I’m concerned, it shouldn’t be ANYONE else’s business.

16 is not of constenting age.I think it would be the same as a male female relationship.

I dont think its legal in the states. Here in Ontario a male must be 18 to consent to another male and a female must be 14 (go figure). I would watch it though. A 16 year old male isnt capable of having a relationship and i think that you are way to old for him to begin with!
