Why does everyone care so much about Anna Nicole Smith so much right now? Nobody did before... she just had commercials for weightloss and starred in porno mags. Weird

    The media created her celebrity, so they had to deal with it when she died. She tried to be Marilyn Monroe and succeeded, although in a completely different way. Monroe was a sex symbol, with famous, respected husbands. I'd venture to say that she was an accurate icon of post-war American sentiment, full of pep and American pride.

    Smith, however, embodied our current sentiment, or maybe more accurately, that sentiment that the media makes us believe we embody. She was bizarre and proud of it. She was fake and rich and greedy. She craved attention, even when America was giving her pity as well. She had drug and weight issues. Exposing her weaknesses to everyone wasn't a problem for her. And the camera caught it all.

    The media now has to mourn for its creation. Strangely, its mourning doesn't involve much more than giving her one last boost of coverage, except this time it uses the puzzling legal issues as validation.

    But it all just amounts to the media still trying to convince us that a nobody can be a somebody, which is the American Dream.

    In general I do not understand the importance put on celebrities lives,and deaths. Their job is to entertain and should not be looked at as role models,or superhuman just because the media follows them around.We have lives to lead and I am sure,though our jobs are not, so called, glamorous,they are important too. Too much attention on celebrities is a waste of time

    I think it's the sad fact of her life that no one seemed to care enough before she died. Now that there's money up for grabs, everyone wants in on it. The circus this has created makes for good ratings and magazine sales, unfortunately.

    ANS was a very charismatic person. She attracted a lot of attention when she was alive. Is is wrong that she is fancied when she is dead?

    She will live on for a long time, just like Marilyn Monroe, she will be a pop culture icon.

    Anna Nicole Smith was more than a stripper, a Playmate, a weight-loss spokesperson, or someone no one cared about. Simply because you feel that way doesn't mean that everyone does.

    She had her own reality TV show. She did numerous charitable works (some of which you could see her personally doing if you watched her show). She was someone's daughter, someone's widow, someone's mother, someone's friend, etc. The media reported her every move (especially the tabloids), and made a national spectacle of her every fault (as if anyone is perfect).

    I felt sorry for her. I feel sorry for her. Unlike others, I certainly do not judge her beginnings as a stripper, her photoshoots in Playboy, or any of that other sexist crap. I mean, honestly, why cast aspersions on Anna Nicole Smith for being a stripper and in Playboy and not on people who go to strip clubs and buy Playboy?

    Well i can't say i ever cared about Anna Nicole-Smith before or after her death. The only person i feel sorry for is her child, now does not know who her father is.
