Question

Help answer this question below.

I have a Jindo, a breed fairly new to the US. I was told that she would begin to calm down after a year or two. This hasn't happened. Is anyone familiar with this breed? If so, when can expect her to mature enough to calm down?

I have experience with the Jindo Dog, but only animals out of Korea.

You will find that your dog is "Primitive" in his instinct, and "spitz" in all other respects. The Jindo can be difficult to train because of their wareiness, and wanting to smell just about everything, rolling in anything and the like, every Jindo I've met is full on and hyper vigilant, they remain that way until trained, age does not weary them.
Socialise your dog weekly, or he will want to fight, or play very rough and will never calm down.
With this breed the primitive aspect has to be at the fore with training, as your dog is strongly influenced by your body language, more than any other breed I know, ever noticed how this breed looks right in your face, they almost stare, they look for signals from you.
Use a professional Dog Trainer,or wild animal trainer, and your dog will be calm in a week.
