If you want to be a writer just go for it. Don't worry about jobs. If you're at all good, you'll find a way to make money. There's never going to be a shortage of people willing to shell out $20 for a decently written self help book. I promise you.

No jobs. Just kidding. What do you like to do? Do you compose letters? Do you really want to go apeshit and write a book? What gives. You have to find a focus first as a structure and learn everything there is to know about your given career and then do those things.
