I prefer sandals from Bass, Reef, or Old Navy. I've owned shoes from all three brands, and they lasted pretty well. You can also get different colors and styles to match your shorts. Brown is a good, versatile shade.
My only caveat is this: Don't buy Rainbows. I owned a pair of the smooth leather kind, and although they were more comfortable than any other type of shoe, the top layer peeled off within two years. Rainbow sandals aren't as well made now as they were 5 or so years ago.

I wear a pair of Nike sandals that I think is discontinued which makes me sad. It's a pair of simple looking sandals with three straps - two over your foot, one that hooks around the back of heel. I wear them with pretty much every outfit since I love them to death, but I've been complimented wearing them with cargo shorts.
What are some common characteristics you share with a pair of flip flops?
