Have you ever watched a songbird setting on her eggs? Have you watched the hatching of the eggs or the progress of the young chicks? (link to LIVE cam of cardinal on nest)

Yes, I watched chicks hatched from eggs during my younger days. The chicks were so tiny and cute, and they were all yellowish in color.

- I've seen a few different species, like robins and hummingbirds. Loved the blue eggs of the robin :-)
  I am looking forwards to seeing these cardinal eggs hatch. The cam says that she's incubating the eggs now, so I don't think it will be long, maybe they'll hatch next week. Thanks:-)

Yes, it does give you a warm loving feeing of nature and God's creation for us to enjoy watching.

I saw baby bluebirds in my neighbor's mailbox.

- That must have been special. We have a robin's nest at the side of our house on the logs that stick out, right outside our closet window. The male charges at us if we stick our head out the window LOL!!!

That's really interesting. They have a chick now. Don't know what happened to the other eggs.

- Yes, I've been watching them all along. A cowbird came along and threw out the other two eggs and then laid it's own egg. And something attacked one chick and it died. Hopefully this little one will make it.

Yes. I've kept track of a House Wren's eggs hatch into beautiful little chicks. I've also monitored Black-Capped Chickadees. The chickadees actually tried to fly off and then scuttered across my driveway, so we helped get them out from under the cars and to safety. They're such beautiful and wonderful little creatures. :)

- Yes, they are :-) At the link in my question above, there is a cam on a nest of Northern Cardinals. She had three eggs but yesterday while I was watching, a mockingbird came and took one of her eggs away. Now, whenever the mother bird leaves the nest I get really worried LOL!!! Thanks

- I watched the cam for a little while earlier today. It's so neat! I would like to get one of these because I have all sorts of birds nesting on my land. I also tend to get worried for the birds sometimes! It's just like they are part of the family!

- I was surprised to see how inexpensive it was, microphone, light and cable for $70! It's amazing what they can do nowadays :-)
