For 2009, the earnings limit for workers who are under "full" retirement age (66 in 2009) is $14,160. The earnings limit for people turning 66 in 2009 is $37,680. If you earn more than the earnings limit, your benefits will be reduced. There is no limit on earnings if you are "full" retirement age or older for the entire year.
The reductions referred to above range from one-third to one-half of your SS benefit, depending on the limits reached.

I just received a letter from social security, that stated i will not have a cap on my earnings, when i turn 66 in december, 2009.
Said the law has chaned and i can earn what i please and still draw my regular s.s. earnings.
Thats great.
You can't earn any, but you can receive a little bit.
I don't know what s.s. stands for, but if the second S stands for Sex, then it can make you a lot of money indeed.

Social security will be gone by the time you are eligible. Should we get a refund of money put in if this happens?
