  • I don't know that it names a fruit at all..beside the forbidden fruit...It does not say it was an apple! :)
  • It never says, just fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and bad. It could have been any kind of fruit.
  • Quince
  • I doesn't say,everyone assumse it was an apple.
  • Some trolled your question and I added back what could. I believe they ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil
  • I think it was an allegorical fruit. What the story really says is that the original people were living in blissful ignorance. The punishment wasn't really from god but was the realization that they have become more that animals grazing in a field. They were now fully human and now have the choice of independent thought and were capable of learning and improving their lives. Maybe things outside the allegorical garden are tougher but no progress is made without effort. When we find people, today, in similar situation we try to increase their knowledge so that they can reach their full potential. All of the other things about original sin and women's labor was added to what would have been a touching story with a happy ending. The originators of the religion were looking for a way to control people, not free them from ignorance, hence the modifications.
  • The fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
  • According to the Bible, all of them.
  • They didn't eat FROM fruit, they ate A fruit. *Reminds me of an apple bong when you say it like that for some reason? But it was a pomegranite.
  • since they were told they were free to eat every fruit except one, I 'm taking a wild guess that they tried them all.
  • It doesn't say, but people believe it was an apple because it grew on a tree and based on the region that the garden was believed to be located
  • I'm not sure but I think it was a mango.......No, wait...It was watermelon.
  • The forbidden kind.....
  • It does not matter....the eating or not is symbolic of obedience...Obey God's law or not. (Genesis 2:16-17) And Jehovah God also laid this command upon the man: “From every tree of the garden you may eat to satisfaction. 17 But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die.” Adam disobeyed and eventually grew old and died...after fathering sons and daughters from Eve. And we have inherited the fault...to grow old and die... Jesus' death has "paid for" that fault to be removed...but only for the obedient. (Revelation 21:4) And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
  • The fig. Which is why they made an apron of fig leaves. It was the closest thing at hand.
  • The only fruit here is u hun
  • The Bible doesn't specify what kind it was but it was definitely the wrong one.
  • It doesn't specifically say. Many say it was most likely a fig. The fig tree symbolism is used quite extensively in the Bible. I don't think the identification of the fruit is particularly important, as the event itself did not actually happen. It is an allegory for partaking of the source of knowledge of good and evil, and taking that knowledge into the self. I don't know why you'd need to be careful about this one, as it is a very straight-forward answer when it comes to Biblical knowledge and textual analysis.
  • fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and of evil.
  • I don't know.
  • The fruit of the Tree of Knowledge....duh!
  • They are like me. They ate from the one and only tree that God told them not too. (PS It was not known what fruit but apple is the tradition) The kind of fruit is not important but the tree they ate from was, of course it was the forbidden tree
  • i dont think it says in the bible but they ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Satan tempted eve and she ate first, then she gave some to Adam.
  • It doesn't say what type of fruit they ate.
