As much as I hate to say it he may be. I was raised christian and once you accept christ as your savior (sincerely) you are going to heaven. Your reward in heaven will be adjusted by your acts on earth. I'm agnostic nowadays but that's how christianity works.

With christianity, everything revolves around your acceptance of Christ, not your acts/deeds on earth. You could be the most outstanding person on the planet but if you haven't accepted Christ as your personal savior you won't go to heaven.

Many Christians don't understand this concept just as you don't Jacob but they still participate in it. Bunch of idiots in my opinion. Why would anyone want to spend eternity with people who could have been terrible in life?

It's all about the heart. I see our debt to God as a debt of, for example, a million dollars, and in reference to that i'd say ghandi's life earned him perhaps a hundred bucks, and hitlers life made the debt greater by a hundred. So to me there's no "earning" your entry to heaven. But if your heart is in the wrong place, you can do all the good you like and not be allowed to enter heaven. In fact the bible even describes people who are christian and who do miracles that will want to go to heaven, and Jesus will say "i don't know you". I believe that is because they did all of that for the wrong reasons, while not really loving Him personally

On the other hand it means if your heart is in the right place but you screw up in life, God knows why you screwed up, and he died to make those sins right, so if He sees a good heart inside you and the will to do right He is forgiving. But i don't think what hitler did falls within the boundries of "screwing up", nor did he want to do the right thing if you ask me. If afterwards he TRUELY repented i do believe he'd be saved. But God knows you well enough to know when your repentence is not true

Matthew 11:28-30
28"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

The difficulty of being a christian is not to believe in Him. The difficulty is mostly to believe how EASY it is. I'm not saying christian life is the easy life. That is because many other people make it hard. Also God cares about you to much to leave you in your current state, but to become who we can be, sometimes we have to confront pains and deal with internal problems we'd rather just forget.

love is not something you can or should make yourself have, it comes from relationship. If you don't have a relationship, you probably won't love Him either. He didn't save you for you to say "hey, thanks for the favor, now i can concentrate on the matters of real importance".
