If I wanted to write over a check to someone else, how would I do that?

    sign on the back pay to the order of "name" then sign your name underneath

    i don't know what you mean by write over, do you mean sign over? If so it is a double endorsment, you sign the back and then the person you are giving it to signs under you. Most places won't cash these checks, but they can be deposited in this 2nd parties account
