    Tiers/tears. It's all the same! A wedding cake has elevated layers in concentric circles, the largest on on the bottom. It is usually elaborately decorated. A birthday cake is not nearly as decorative or expensive.

    Wedding Cakes are larger and tiered( different levels) and Birthday cakes are usually just flat sheet cakes, unless you have a specialty cake.....then there is not that much difference.

    I don't know--they taste the same to me. Usually the wedding cake has a little bride and groom at the top and has several layers on top of each other. One of the neat things about wedding cake that I've noticed, is that it's usually the only time a guy can shove cake in his wife's mouth with his hand.
