Question

Help answer this question below.

My cat is less than a year old and he throws his litter out of his litterbox. I have tried changing the amount of litter in the box but it doesn't help. Why does he does he do this and how can I stop it?

Get a covered litter box -- that way all of the litter stays inside.

    My cat did that too.

Switching too a covered litter box solved the problem.

My boy cat does this too. We got a litter box with a top and has a swinging door. He didn't like the "doggy door" thing, which can be taken off. It is a lot less mess if any at all.

This happens when they try to bury the poo or pee ... when my cats wer eonly kittens they done this alot ... Now they never even use the litter tray, only incase of emergencies !
If I am at work all day they wait until I am home then they go out side ...
So your kittens will prob grow out if this!

Cats often have the habit of burying their feces. This is probably what he is up to and is nothing to be concerned about. Some litterboxes come with a big lid on top. (my cat has one.) You can buy a type of litterbox that's move like a little cave and the top lifts off for easy cleaning. Also, the cat really seems to enjoy the privacy.
