The Cuba embargo is a complete and utter failure.
Had it been lifted years ago opening a window the the US Castros government would have collapsed shortly thereafter.
I'd hardly call the Cuba embargo a failure.
When analyzing the Cuba embargo, you have to take into consideration the forces behind it: namely, the Right-Wing Republican nut jobs in Miami who, 50 years later, are still pissed at Fidel because he took away their mansions, their sugar cane plantations and their sugar mills, even thou they were all able to transfer their money to the US, exercise their US college degrees and continue living life as usual. Because of this, they are the ones that hold the money and buy the policians and they can't accept that they have lost and should move on. Coincidentally, the head of that putrid gang, the Diaz Balart brothers, are Fidel's newphews - he he...nobody knows that but their aunt, Mirtha Diaz-Balart was married to Fidel and they have a son, Fidelito, who still lives in Cuba because. So, there you have it, the mechanics of the Cuban embargo in one paragraph
The example given is only one example of the error of seeing things only way. Maslow was right. It's hard to see things in new ways and to try new solutions.

You're reading Abraham Maslow wrote: "If the only tool you have is a hammer, you tend to see every problem as a nail." Is any one approach to problem solving the right approach for every problem? Example: The Cuba embargo hasn't worked for 50 years but stay the course.
