Can u get a laptop that runs on a wireless 6 cell battery and seperately also run on a wall charger, i can never get my work done in time, then my battery goes dead.. can u just use a laptop with a wall charger?

• I have yet to see one that cannot.
  I have seen some that require that a battery be present to complete the circuit, but my PB180 still runs fine off of wall power even though it's NiCad pack is shot (it's >15 years old!) and once unplugged has a battery life of under 30 seconds. Removing the battery prevents it from powering up even when plugged in though, so I keep that worthless battery in there.

• Dell Inspiron 5000 series do not run plugged in with the battery removed. A few older HP models do not. I have seen others but do not remember the which makes or models they are.

• Like I said, some require a battery to be *present*.
  That does NOT mean that it has to be a good battery, as my PB180 can prove to you.
  I reiterate - "Removing the battery prevents it from powering up even when plugged in though, so I keep that worthless battery in there."
  Emphasis on the WORTHLESS - "...once unplugged has a battery life of under 30 seconds"

  My PB180 runs 100% fine on AC power. My Aspire One is also plugged in much of the time, though I also keep the battery in it; I don't remove the battery when I plug it in.

• I had seen an older IBM Thinkpad that had a battery so worn down it could not function with the power cord plugged in.
