Question

Have you heard of the writing/publishing trend: "from blog to book"? Do you think that's a good strategy (blog regularly, then propose, then publish), especially for memoir or niche non fiction?

Yes, as your blog following will become the base for a good platform, from which you will begin to market your book. Good luck!

I suppose it helps you hone your craft to the point that moving from blog to book would be relatively easy. Like off-Broadway tryouts...once you land on Broadway you know the part cold! :)

I have read a book that was originally a blog.

I think that its a good way for people who enjoy writing and have a talent for it, to get published. I'm sure it must be an incredibly hard thing to go about. Also I think it has further merits because the author already has a fan base when s/he releases the debut book! Also a plus!
