I am 25 and was just convicted of Misdemeanor Theft in Illinois. I have probation for 1 year. This is my first offense ever. Will this follow me if I where to move to another state for employment?

    Yes, it's a conviction which stays with you for life. You can be pardoned or expunged.

    Most employers do not ask,or should not be allowed to ask about ones personal records.The important thing is being able to do the work that is required in the job.
