My wife would probably say all of the above.

But then, she once told me she would like shag carpeting, so I don't lend any credence to her fashion sense with respect to such things.

In fact, I once told her that if shag carpeting ever showed up in our house, then next time she came home there would be a huge pile of flaming shag carpet in the back yard.

A man's got to draw the line SOMEWHERE. For me, it's shag carpeting.

She can have her tie-dyed shirts, though.

You like the look of it. That's it. That's all. No statement. You just like it! :)

It's not completely out of style. The key is to make the style a little more grown up. For instance, I've seen lots of lovely, tasteful tie-dyed halter dresses that don't look like they belong at a Halloween party or on a 10-year-o.d.

Tie-dye clothing is just fun. There is an age at which it starts to look pretty silly - around the mid-twenties. Other than that it's fun to make and fun to wear, especially for outdoor summertime activities. I like seeing it on kids. For adults, I think the fashion statement is "I lost all of my other clothes in a house fire."
