Question

Help answer this question below.

I worked for the same company in 2 states. When I got my W-2 my wages were listed as 15,000. On one state my state wages were 10,000 and the other was 6,000. Why don't the state wages add up to the wages in box 1? Is there something wrong?

Yes. Use the last pay stub as proof of what you made in each state. Your total 'should' be filed with separate w-2 forms, one for each state. Then you will have to file state tax for 2 different states. You can ask for an extension, but since this is not an emergency, you can still file your taxes with your final pay stubs.
