I wanted to go into the Reserves (this was about 30 years ago). I even took the ASVAB test, but when the recruiter received the score, he was dumbfounded. He said that I had maxed in every section and added that "We don't like to see people like you. We prefer people that are good at ONE thing, then we know what to do with them." That stifled my Army career.

I dropped out of law school to join the Army back in 1966. I stayed in for over 34 years, in one form or another. It's a decision I have never regretted.

Yes indeed, however, it is a fallback position if everything else does not go to plan. Not saying that the military is bad, but it is not the primary objective I want to achieve at the moment (im in school). If I joined I would join the airforce, as they have excellent standards.

I tried to join at seventeen but the bloke in the recruiting office was being annoying, so I ended up telling him where to go and walking out. Once I got older I was glad I didn't though.
