It allows people to answer a question by reflecting upon personal experience.
Because they're afraid you might "take it from someone else", if they don't claim the information for themselves!! lol
because some people are know-it-alls and think you just need to take it and only from them. LOL
I guess because they feel they know something about the subject and they're hoping to help.
