Help answer this question below.

I have an older Philips tv. It turns on, but shuts itself off within a few seconds. The remote is not the problem. Any idea what could be wrong?

    Short circuit inside the TV. Oh, well, nothing else to do with that old piece of crap, but to throw it out from the window.
