Nope, that doesn't seem to be doing what I want...It just puts the client's name in all of the cells in the row....hmmmmmm.

No it's not Tina I am afraid.
That's odd it always used to work like that. If all the data is selected Excel should sort all the data based upon the sort field you select keeping the row-relationships intact. Certainly does on 2003 as I just tried it. Don't know I am afraid. Even if you click the sort button on the toolbar it should give you the option to expand the selection or just sort one column.
