Manually, when you select the range of data to be sorted. If you select even one cell in a contiguous range, then choose Data / Sort, Excel will attempt to identify the bounds of the range that it thinks belongs together. It doesn't work so well if you have blank rows and columns, but it gives it the old college try.

I haven't used 2007 but in previous versions you would do the following

1) Select your data (include all fields you wish to sort)
2) Click the Data menu on the menu bar
3) Click Sort
4) You will be given the option to choose your sort field and direction as well as header row options.

Don't know if it is different in 2007 though.

Nope, that doesn't seem to be doing what I want...It just puts the client's name in all of the cells in the row....hmmmmmm.

Tina, is that you?

No it's not Tina I am afraid.
That's odd it always used to work like that. If all the data is selected Excel should sort all the data based upon the sort field you select keeping the row-relationships intact. Certainly does on 2003 as I just tried it.
Don't know I am afraid. Even if you click the sort button on the toolbar it should give you the option to expand the selection or just sort one column.
