Does anyone know why every program you download these days offers to install a "toolbar"? Are they getting a kickback from Yahoo or Microsoft or whoever makes the toolbar? Is this some form of tracking? Anyone really know?

Well the toolbar maker is making money this way, and some of those toolbars also track user information, wich toolbar maker sells to sb else.
And also, if you include a toolbar installer inside your apps installer and it gets installed on EU, then you get payed.
