Why would you want to teach a child that it's worth is based on its looks? We have plenty of shallow vacuous people wandering around already.

I would never put a child in a beauty pageant. I think if you put children between the age of 5-13 in beauty pageants it opens up a window for pedophiles to look through. Since those children are made up to look like adults and not like children. I would never want anyone to look at my child with eyes of lust.

  • No I never would and I think any child under the age of 14 is too young. At least by 14 they can object if they want to. Excellent question.

Hell no. It is very unhealthy. There is already FAR too much pressure on how we aparantly should look. Pageants are ridiculously stupid and enforce ideals onto children that just are not correct. Should be banned completely.

No, I don't think I'd put my child in Beauty Pageants. Maybe if my child chose it on her own.

I think there is something a little sick or disturbing when parents, usually mothers, love to dress up their little girls as tiny sluts and compete with other ones showing up how sexualized they are at such a young age. I would never do something like that. I think all ages are too young if they are younger than 18.

I would never put my child through that. It's hard enough growing up without adding that kind of pressure. Kids need to be allowed to be kids!

My wife and I did with our oldest when she was 4 months old, but not that crap with all the makeup and nails and hair. Just good old fashion good looks. She won 2nd place beauty. The only reason she didn't get first was because you had to sell tickets and it was a combination of looks and ticket sales. She got more votes and better scores for looks and talent but when the value of the tickets were entered she was placed as second.

No, I dont think I would...

If I could find talent contests that aren't based on looks, I might put them in things such as that.

    And definitely in sports!

The closest I'll ever get to having children is my pet cats -- and I would never even think of putting them in a " Cute Pet Contest. "

Heck no. I think the youngest age to start working in a pageant is fourteen. I hate Toddlers in Tiaras- they put fake nails, wigs, and fake tans on these little four-year-olds to make them look much older. It's sick- children aren't supposed to be sexy :(

    on their age. i

    way too young to be
    putting your children
    through pageants & all
    the craziness that comes
    with it.

I definitely think parents especially mothers over exploit there children in beauty pageants either because they were a beauty queen or they weren't chosen to be beautiful enough to be in one. A lot of parents live through their children, and want them to do things they were unable to do. Which is fine you know? But, when is enough enough and when is it too much.

16 years old is a good age
16year olds can drive, get jobs, they have to pay taxes e.t.c so why cant they be in a beuty pagent? Beuty pagents should not be banned because then fundraiser beuty pagets will be banned as well and kids really like these because they can dress up and walk down the runway.

p.s i actually believe that beuty pagent should be banned but i am writing this veiw because this is the topic of my class debate next week and i am negative

No,I'd never put my child in one I have way more dignity then that its sick beacause they sex these little girls up with these brutal looking California tans and fake talons (Nails)

I knew this little girl who thought she was fat,so she tied the ribbon on her dress extra tight to suck in her belly it was depressing and sad =( just proves what media can do to little girl's minds
