  • because alot of men have handy jobs, like construction and such, and people cant afford to build anything or to have their cars fixed or what not. alot of women have desk jobs that, more than likely, they are able to keep. just my opinion. i am a woman with a desk job and i have been told my job is secure (knock on wood) but my bf runs the risk of getting laid off every day as a body mechanic, because not everyone wants to have the ugly imperfections of their cars fixed unless they absolutely have to.
  • It could be because more women are prepared to do part-time jobs than men.
  • because there are alot of strippers out there ;)
  • Because men are not in a minority.
  • I don't know, I'd have to look at the statistics. Is there a 50/50 split in the workforce? What effect does the traditional housewife have on the numbers? etc...
  • LOL Because we're lazy bastards who just want to drink beer and watch strippers all day !! :):)
  • Because there are more men in the workforce than women because alot of women stay home to take care of their children.
  • Simply because women will work for less pay and are much more adaptable :D
  • Men are looking for a job with insurance for the family, insurance costs companies alot of money! Women can do alot of smaller jobs, less pay, and are willing to.
  • If a business organization needs to make serious cuts in its costs, it's labor costs, which are usually the most significant, are the first to be examined. Men, still in the majority of the high end career positions, are typically among the highest paid and have the greatest impact on those labor costs. Their performance and contributions to the bottom line will be closely looked at first. A recession such as we are experiencing that may result in profit loss, offers an opportunity to rid the organization of poor performers and what is known as "dead wood", something about which the organization may have long procrastinated in otherwise doing. Trust me, there is a far greater number of marginal-performing, high-priced "dead wood" among the men than they is among the women employees. And the organization will function far better after that "dead wood" is cleaned out. As a vice-president of a Fortune 30 corporation, I experienced more than one recession over my 30 years. I know how it works when cost have to be reduced. +5
  • definitely women
  • Men have always been more expendable than women, not just in the job market. The marketplace is a competition, just like war, and men are usually the ones to wind up on the business end of pikes. Besides, it's harder for men to present a discrimination case than women.
