What does it mean if an NHL team is playing 500 hockey?

    It means the thier record is balanced in the win, loss, tie record, ie: 20 wins, 20 losses, 3 ties for 43 points.

    When you see 12-13-0-3 what does the 3 stand for? I know the others, win-losses-ties but I have no idea what the 3 is for. Thanks.
