Whatever you have to do. Although, it is really hard to drive without keys.

    G'day Drublic,

    Thank you for your question.

The best thing in that situation is to take their keys. Arrange for a sober person to drive them home, call a cab or offer to have them sleep overnight if they are at a house. However, the best situation is to plan before you go to the bar by having a designated driver or catching a cab or using other transport to get to the place where they will be drinking.

You shouldn't have a situation where a car is in the parking lot or drive unless there is a sober person to drive it home.

    Regards

take their keys and hide them.
I had a collegue..... who drank some after the semester was over and we celebrated. a little too much. he got so out of hand wanting his keys, that we finally gave them to him, and he died, hitting the central devider.

My friends and I have always taken the keys away from a potential drunk driver. Almost got in some serious fist fights, but then the next day, the drunk never remembers it.

Taking the keys is the best option. Sometimes it helps them surrender the keys if they know they have a reliable way to get back to the car when they need it the next day.

Take the keys or, even better, open the hood and remove the coil wire-if the person is drunk, chances are they'll NEVER figure out the problem, thus they won't be able to drive til you produce that coil wire!
