You mean the myth that Trailer parks are tornado magnets?

The truth is that tornados touch down where ever the wind sends them. They have an equal chance at hitting homes, downtown sky scrapers or the wide open.

Unfortunately we humans have a bad habit of not looking about us before we pitch a tent, pull in a trailer or build a house.

Houses do not implode and spill their contents as readily as trailers do. Further trailer parks are designed for limited lot space so there are more trailers on the same amount of land as fewer houses.

These conditions mean that when a tornado does touch down in a house neighborhood it will take out less houses than trailers.

Secondly, the media lies to focus on the worst touch-down points for their camera shots.
