Fail here is when an engine stops. Whether its a simple fix or replacement is another subject. I don,t know much but anything near or in the engine area that begins to sound, feel, look, smell different would be a good sign. The faster the changes, the more I would get worried.

There should be a temperature gauge or temperature light somewhere on your dash panal. If the guage works it will show the temperature going into the part of the guage that is colored (probably orange) towards hot. If it is a light, the light will just simply come on when the engine starts getting hot. Guages are better than lights, often called idiot lights, because the temperature of the engine can be monitored by the driver at all temperatures not just hot. With an idiot light, the driver has no idea what the engine temp is until it gets too hot and the light comes on.
